Baldemar has more than a decade of government and legal experience, from his early career at the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) to his service in Governor Pat Quinn’s administration and his work as a partner at Lopez & Sanchez LLP.
Throughout his career, he has worked on significant legislation and complex legal matters. During his time with the Governor, he helped advance an omnibus procurement bill and election-law legislation. Today, Baldemar represents both small and large clients in immigration, litigation and legislative affairs.
Baldemar is a former City Councilman for the City of Elgin. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and American Immigration Lawyers Association; a board member of the Farmworker and Landscaper Advocacy Project; and a member of the Illinois Latino Caucus Foundation Board. He earned his law degree from the University of Denver and his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois Chicago.
